Moroccan outlets reported on Sunday that Chikatara could be heading to Tetouan after coach Youssef Fertout expressed his readiness to sign the Nigerian next season. MT coach Youssef Fertout is a former Wydad player and physical trainer at Wydad before moving to Tetouan. It is believed among Wydad officials that the deal could eventually see the light of day given the coach’s familiarity and close relationship that exit between both parties. Other players wanted by MT are defender Fadh Aktaou and Naim Aarab. Chikatara joined the Red and White side in 2016 after a scintillating performance at CHAN 2018 in Rwanda but failed to rediscover his form at Wydad. Manchester United player Ashley Young has been handed a three-match suspension by the English Football Association for violent conduct. Young’s suspension was confirmed by United on their official website on Sunday. Young, 32, was punished for striking Dusan Tadic of Southampton with an elbow in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. A statement on United’s website reads: “Ashley Young will be suspended for Manchester United’s next three matches. “He accepted a violent conduct charge following an off-the-ball incident during yesterday’s game against Southampton, but argued the suspension was excessive. Croatia and Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren faces up to five years in jail after being accused of perjury. According to The Sun, Lovren will appear in court on Tuesday having alleged to have given false testimony during a football corruption investigation. Public prosecutors in his home country of Croatia believe the 28-year-old lied under oath regarding his transfer from Dinamo Zagreb to French club Lyon in 2010. A public prosecutors’ spokesman told The Sun:“The county prosecutor’s office in Osijek is investigating Dejan Lovren on a suspicion of giving a false testimony.” The case is part of a £14 million embezzlement trial of former Dinamo boss Zdravko Mamic. If convicted, Lovren will miss the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with Croatia who are in Group D with Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland. He was a member of the Croatia squad that participated at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The English Football Association have charged Manchester United’s Ashley Young with violent conduct. Young, 32, appeared to strike Dusan Tadic of Southampton with an elbow in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. The incident was not spotted by referee Craig Pawson and Young has until 5pm on Sunday to respond to the charge. The draw against Southampton was United’s third straight game without a win in the league. And they are winless in their last four games in all competitions having lost to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup. Young will likely miss Monday’s Premier League trip to Everton.

Salisu Yusuf’s charges are currently in Abuja perfecting strategies ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) which is due to start in Morocco on January 12. The players were also given a day off last Monday to observe the Christmas celebrations. They will however not be allowed to travel to see their families and loved ones as they are expected to remain in their Bolton White and Apartments base all through the day.
