Man City Ease Past Everton, Close On On EPL Title

Manchester City moved a step closer to winning their fifth English Premier League title following a comfortable 3-1 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Citizens, who are now on 84 points from 31 games  can now claim the title if they beat rivals Manchester United, who are 16 points behind in second place, at the Etihad Stadium next weekend.

Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling were all target for City, while Yannick Bolasie scored the hosts’ consolation goal.

Pep Guardiola’s men started brightly and were ahead in the fourth minute with Sane thumping home a left-footed volley from 12 yards after a lovely play from David Silva in the build-up.

It is the German winger’s 13th goal of the season.

Gabriel Jesus got his side’s second goal of the game in the 12th minute after he was set up by Kevin De Bruyne.

City’s third goal of the game arrived before half time, and it came through a third different goalscorer as  Sterling buried his 21st of the season with a tidy finish under pressure from Leighton Baines.

The hosts reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute through Bolasie who fired his first goal since October 2016 past Ederson.
