Etebo Joins Las Palmas On Loan From Feirense

By Adeboye Amosu: Spanish club Las Palmas have acquired the services of Nigeria midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo on a six-month loan deal from Portuguese club CD Feirense with an option to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Etebo was recently linked with a move to Portuguese giants FC Porto and Genk of Belgium but has opted to join the LaLiga club.

“Etebo arrives on loan from Club Desportivo Feirense of the First Division of Portugal. UD Las Palmas reserves the option to purchase the player. He can act as an offensive or extreme midfielder. At 23, he has already been a regular international with Nigeria,” reads a statement on the Las Palmas website on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old has featured in 18 games for Feirense this season, scoring four goals.

On the international scene, Etebo was a member of the Nigeria U-23 team that won the African title in 2015 and also won bronze at 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He was named the Promising African Talent at the 2015 Aiteo CAF Awards.

Las Palmas are 19th in the 20-team Spanish La Liga table with two wins, four draws and 15 defeats from 21 games.
